The absorption of the microwaves for medical use (frequency of 2,450 MHz) takes place mostly in the muscle tissues and in general in the tissues full of water.

Since the microwaves action on these tissues decrease depending on the depth, to treat the internal parts an increase of the emission power is needed.

A medium or high power continuous microwaves emission however always cause a strong heating of the tissues nearest to the emitter (aerial), so increasing the emission power is frequently advised (i.e. when the part is inflammed).

In such a case a pulsed emission is needed, that ensure a very good transmission of the energy, avoiding the side effects caused by an excessive heating of the tissues.

With the two models LP and HP of the ELBITHERM 800 PULS is possible to select both the continuous and pulsed emission.

All the therapy parameters (time, power and duty cicle) are set out simply by one touch with only three keys.

An all digital hi-tech board based on an A/D converter controls the supply of the Magnetron (Microwaves generator) ensuring a long life and a stable output power and pulse duration.

The LP model reach a maximum power of 250 W both in continuous and in pulsed emission. The duty cicle of pulses is 1/2 (50%).

The HP model reach a maximum power of 250 W in continuous emission and 800 W in pulsed emission, with 4 different duty cicles: 1/2 - 1/4 - 1/8 - 1/16. Depending on the selected duty cicle, the unit chooses the right power scale: from 0 to 250 W with 1/2 duty cicle and from 0 to 800 W with 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 duty cicles.

Thank to the high peak emission power and the choice of shorter pulses, the HP model ensure a therapy of best quality aiming a deeper and uniform absorption of the microwaves.
